Cookie Policy
The ELECRO website runs on a simple principle: strictly necessary storage only, with no tracking and no third parties. Below we explain exactly what we store, why, and how you can delete this data at any time.
Last updated: June 2026. This policy explains how the elecro.eu website uses cookies and local storage technologies in your browser. We publish it to give you full control and transparency, in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive.
In short: we do not track you
ELECRO does not use tracking, advertising or third-party analytics cookies. We do not embed marketing pixels, we do not build behavioural profiles, and we do not sell or share data with advertising networks. The only piece of information we keep in your browser is your language preference (Romanian or English), stored locally so the site displays correctly on your next visit.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website can place on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit it. Cookies are generally used to remember preferences, to keep a session active or, on many commercial sites, to track visitor behaviour.
Alongside cookies, modern browsers offer similar storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage. These let a site keep simple information directly in the browser without automatically sending it with every request to the server — unlike cookies. ELECRO uses localStorage exclusively, for a single functional preference described below.
What we actually store
Our website keeps a single piece of information, strictly necessary for the interface to work correctly:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Third parties |
|---|---|---|---|---|
elecro-lang |
localStorage (essential) | Remembers your chosen language (RO / EN) so the site is shown in your language on the next visit. | Persistent, until manually cleared | None |
This is a strictly essential / functional entry: it contains no identifiable personal data (name, e-mail, IP address), it cannot identify you, and it is not used for analytics or marketing. Under privacy law, storage strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user does not require prior consent — which is why the site does not display an intrusive cookie banner.
What we do NOT use
For full clarity, we explicitly list what the ELECRO website does not use:
- No third-party analytics cookies — we do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar or similar tools.
- No advertising or remarketing cookies — we do not run ad networks and we do not retarget you in campaigns.
- No tracking social buttons — any links to social networks are plain hyperlinks, with no tracking scripts loaded in the background.
- No third-party resources that expose your IP — fonts and icons are self-hosted on our own servers, not pulled from external CDNs (e.g. Google Fonts), precisely to avoid disclosing your IP address to third parties.
- No data transfers to third countries — since we use no external tracking services, there are no flows of personal data to providers outside the European Economic Area via cookies.
How to view and delete the stored data
You have full control over the information kept in your browser. You can inspect or delete it at any time without affecting the essential operation of the site (you will simply be asked to choose a language again on your next visit).
Deleting directly from the browser
- Google Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → "See all site data and permissions" → search for
elecro.eu→ Delete. - Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search for
elecro.eu→ Remove. - Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → select
elecro.eu→ Remove.
Developer tools
You can open the browser console (the F12 key) → the Application tab (or Storage) → the Local Storage section → https://elecro.eu, where you will see the elecro-lang key. You can delete it individually with a single click.
Also, if you browse in private / incognito mode, the language preference is automatically removed when you close the window.
Blocking local storage
Most browsers let you block or restrict cookies and local storage from their settings. If you choose to block these technologies entirely, the ELECRO website will continue to work, but it will not be able to remember your chosen language between visits and will revert to the default language.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect technical or legal changes. Any new version will be published on this page with the "last updated" date revised. We encourage you to review it periodically.
